JAMUGURIHAT: A training-cum-interaction programme on integrated B.Ed curriculum convened by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) was held at the Hara Kanta Gogoi auditorium of THB College on Friday.

Dr Ajit Hazarika, principal of THB College, delivered a welcome address at the very outset of the programme. During his welcome address, the principal stated that the college had been granted permission by the Gauhati University to start the master degree course in English and Assamese as well. Professor RC Patel, former head of the department of Education, MS University Baroda and an expert of NCTE East division, graced the occasion as a resource person.

Resource person Patel delivered his lecture on ‘Implementation of Integrated Teacher Education Programme Aligned with NEP- 2020’. Patel said that a total of 42 educational institutions have been selected in the country to start the integrated B.Ed course and THB College is the only college under Gauhati University which has been permitted to begin this course as per NEP 2020. He replied to all the questions raised by the teachers and the students as well.

The session was addressed by Dr Bipul Kumar Bhuyan, president of the governing body, Dr Dinesh Das, head of the department of Education. The session began with Bhupendra sangeet performed by Anjumoni Saikia and a xattriya dance by Uddipta Kasturi Bhuyan.
