TEZPUR: The two-day annual Commanders Conference of the Eastern Air Command (EAC) commenced on October 12 at the Air Force Station (AFS) in Tezpur, Assam. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, participated in this significant gathering, held from October 12 to 13. He was warmly received by Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of EAC, who introduced him to all Commanders and Senior Officers in attendance.

During the conference, the Chief of the Air Staff conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness of the Command and expressed his contentment with its notable achievements. In his address to the participants, he underscored the paramount importance of maintaining a high level of operational preparedness and ensuring the readiness of all platforms, weapon systems, and assets.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari emphasized the significance of conducting root cause analyses for all accidents and incidents, enhancing maintenance practices to optimize mission effectiveness, and prioritizing both physical and cyber security at all times. He called upon all Commanders to persist in their efforts to provide a secure operational flying environment.

In recognition of excellence in various domains, the Chief of the Air Staff presented trophies to various Stations, acknowledging their outstanding performance in Operations, Maintenance, and Administration.

Earlier the Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrated its 91st anniversary at Eastern Air Command (EAC), Shillong, on Sunday. The IAF, which made its humble beginning on October 8, 1932, with six Indian Hawai Sepoys, has grown to become one of the most potent air forces across the globe. On the occasion of Air Force Day, IAF personnel re-iterate their pledge to serve the nation with patriotism and professionalism, following all tenets of military ethos.

In the run-up to Air Force Day, all the units under Eastern Air Command celebrated the 91st anniversary of the IAF with a variety of formal and social events. Remembering all the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Air Command, paid tribute by laying a wreath at the war memorial at Head Quarters EAC in Shillong. He also conveyed greetings and best wishes to all personnel and their families of the Eastern Air Command and exhorted them to continue working towards taking the Indian Air Force and the nation to greater heights and glory.
