Donkamukam: A two-day Rural Science Mela 2019-20 got underway on
Saturday at Tumpreng Higher Secondary School, West Karbi Anglong. The programme
was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Sayyad Israful Rehman. The Rural Science
Mela has been organized in collaboration with Assam Science Society, Tumpreng
branch.
The programme was also attended by Donkamukam Ranger Bidyutpal Ronghang, retired Joint Director of the Agril Department, Dayal Kro, teachers, president of Tumpreng Branch Science Society, Vishnu Nerolla, academicians and students from 20 schools.
The Deputy Commissioner in his speech said that this was the science age. He urged students to develop scientific temperament.
The Rural Science Mela include science exhibition, plantation programme, botanical garden exhibition inside the room, interaction with students, screening of films on science and quiz competition.
