Assam: Two Students From Dibrugarh University Feared Drowned In Arunachal's Siang River

Rescue teams from both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are continuing the rescue operations in the Siang River

ITANAGAR: Two students from Dibrugarh University have been feared drowned in the Siang river at Ranaghat, in the region of Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat, while they were taking a bath in the river.

The incident is reported to have taken place on Sunday.

The student, Prosiddha Handique who hails from Assam's Chiring Chapori in the Dibrugarh district is a PGDCA last semester student while Subhodeep Paul, who hails from Gohpur is a BCA sixth semester student.

As per reports, five students from Dibrugarh University went to the Siang river in Pasighat and took bath in order to beat the heat. While they were bathing, Subhodeep Paul and Prosiddha Handique, both from Dibrugarh University, went missing.

Thereafter, the other three friends started searching for them. And when they were not found in the river, the rescue teams had to be called to search for them.

It has been reported that rescue teams from Assam as well as Arunachal Pradesh are doing the search operation in the Siang river.
