Silchar: Assam University, Silchar issued guidelines on conducting the semester examination for TDC 6th semester (Non-CBCS) along with the arrear papers. The notification was issued by Controller of Examination (CoE) in-charge L Bojen Singh stating that the examinations will begin from September 29.

As per the notification, students who have submitted their examination forms and are found eligible will have to submit their details including names, roll number, subject indicating paper, email id, and contact number. A prescribed undertaking provided by the university to the respective colleges needs to be submitted by the students on or before September 20.

Further, the colleges have been asked to submit the details of such students to the University on or before September 22.

CoE in-charge, Singh said that the online mode will be conducted by the colleges on the Google Meet platform. The students willing to appear in the online mode of examination will have to ensure that they will arrange the required gadgets- computer, tab, mobile phone, and others as well as internet connectivity on their own.

The question papers will be given either in the Google classroom or their respective mails and the examinees will have to take printouts or screenshots of the questions that will help them to answer and then join the Google Meet platform. Later, the answer sheets will be submitted in the Google Classroom as per the schedule of the offline examination at the same time.

To authenticate the downloaded hard copy, one of the college faculties will invigilate the entire process on camera.

The Google Meet link and classroom id should have to be given to the examination section in the specified mail id – au.examination@gmail.com.

The camera of the gadgets used by the examinees have to be on and the microphone to be kept off during the examination.

Students opting for the online mode will be allowed 10 minutes extra before the commencement of the examination for downloading the question papers and 20 minutes after completion of uploading the answer scripts.

Students who are unable to submit their answer scripts within the stipulated time will be treated as absent.

Students appearing in online mode cannot switch to offline mode and vice versa.

However, the practical examinations will be conducted in offline mode as said by the controller.
