Assam: Various programmes under DBT Star College scheme held

NAGAON: The Department of Botany, Dhing College organized a series of programmes including awareness, hand on training, outreach, quiz, poster presentation, demonstration, etc under DBT Star College scheme for over a month at various spots or different institutions like St Edmunds College, BSI and NEHU in Meghalaya and other states.

The main objective of the programmes was to provide students with practical knowledge and also to promote awareness on scope of biological field. Five faculty members escorted a group of 20 students to the sites of those institutions during the programme. Besides, various competitions like poster presentation, quiz, etc were organized among the students of Botany department. Dr Sanjeeb Kumar Nath, HoD, Department of Botany, Uddhav Thakur, Mousumi Terangpi, Mukut Moni Saikia, Dr Manoj Kumar Saikia, Ranjit Pokhral, initiated all those events in the month long programmes.
