Assam: Workshop on cyber security held at Nowgong Girls’ College

NAGAON: A workshop on cyber security was held at Nowgong Girls’ College on Wednesday. The workshop was a joint initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam, and Nowgong Girls’ College. It was a part of the state-wide awareness drive on cyber security among the students. Biju Pegu, a noted cyber security expert and Cyber Security Crusader 2020 awardee, was the resource person of the event. He apprised the students and teachers about different aspects of cybercrimes, including hacking, and pointed out the techniques and steps to be taken to save oneself from such cybercrimes.

He emphasized that awareness is the key to avert cybercrime. Ranjit Barua, coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, moderated the session. The students and teachers interacted with the resource person actively.
