Assam: World AIDS Day celebrated

MORIGAON: An awareness rally was flagged off by Dr Phani Pathak, Joint Director of Health, Morigaon at Manipur ME School on the occasion of the World AIDS Day on Friday. Around 150 students and other members of the local community participated actively to spread the theme of this year 2023 “Lets Community Lead”. After that an awareness meeting was organized at the conference hall of Manipur GP.

The meeting was presided by Mahendra Saikia (president of Axom Sahitya Sabha, Morigaon). The welcome address was delivered by Rimki Bhagawati. Joint Director of Health Services Dr Phani Pathak has illustrated the present scenerio of Morigaon. He emphasized on integrated approach for HIV, syphillis, TB& hepatitis. ADC (Health) Dyotiva Bora also graced the occasion. She emphasized on strong community participation and assured all kind of help from the district administration for welfare of the society in relation to HIV/AIDS. A blood donation drive was done at RD Motors premises.
