LAKHIMPUR: The need for eggs in the diet is unlimited in terms of health and nutrients required for the body. Every year, the second Friday of the month of October is celebrated as “World Egg Day” around the world. In order to celebrate the event, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc) organized a three-day-long special programme from October 6. Dr. Uma Ram Tamuli, Associate Dean of the LCVSc, inaugurated the programme on the beginning day at the college premises.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Pallabi Thakuria, wherein Dr. Prashanta Kumar Pathak, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Lakhimpur SMS Dipsikha Hazarika were present as guest of honour and resource person respectively. Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Pathak and Dr. Simson Soren, Assistant Professors, LCVSc were also present as resource persons. In the workshop, discussion related to the importance of eggs in human health, myths and facts about egg consumption, etc. was held among students, teaching faculty in details. During these three days programmes, online slogan writing competitions on eggs, egg art competitions were carried out. Dr. Uma Ram Tamuli, Associate Dean, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Sciences commended the organizing committee for making the event a grand success and reiterated the need for such events in the future as well. Organizing Secretary Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Pathak extended the vote of thanks to all concerned for supporting in seamless conduct of the workshop which concluded with prize distribution ceremony.
