Assam: Youth Found Lying Dead Near Guwahati Club Flyover

GUWAHATI: On Thursday night, a young man's body was discovered lying on the flyover that connects Guwahati Club and B Barooah Road.

According to accounts, the young person's body was discovered laying on the flyover's sidewalk.

The police have determined that the youth is Lutfur Rahman, a Goalpara native who moved to Guwahati just a few weeks ago.

The deceased was transported to GMCH for an autopsy, according to Paltan Bazar police officers. The officers further mentioned that the youth died from a drug overdose.

In the month of February, 2023, a horrible episode took place in a rehab centre located in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area, where youth murdered one of his inmate inside the premises.

Arindam Khand was identified as the victim. Reports state that Aminul Hussain, a drunken youngster, attacked Arindam at the Miracle Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Lakhimi Nagar.

The Surveillance camera recorded the entire episode. The accused was arrested on the same day and the police had locked the Rehabilitation Center.

A woman cuts off a man’s genital when he allegedly tried to rape her. The incident has been reported from Assam’s Batadrava, on 1st of March, Wednesday. As an act of self defence, the woman cuts off the man’s genital with a sharp edged object which was hidden under her bed.

As per the reports, the accused lived next door to the woman. On the night of 1st March, the culprit entered into her house and attempted to physically molest her. The man is currently being treated in the Nagaon Civil Hospital.

As per source, the accused’s condition is critical. Nonetheless, the woman has lodged an FIR against the matter in Batadrava police station. While interacting with the media, the woman informed that the accused has a history of sexually abusing other women as well.

Furthermore, she mentioned that his family members threatened her to not report the matter to the police. On the other hand, Batadrava police has initiated an investigation into the matter.
