GUWAHATI: Saurav Dey, a young cricketer from Assam's Karimganj region has been accepted for the BCCI Under-19 camp taking place in Pondicherry.

As per reports, the Assam Cricket Association received notification of this via a letter from the BCCI. From April 24 to May 18, 2023, the U-19 (boys) camp will be held under the auspices of the NCA and BCCI.

According to the information provided, the players on the list from the concerned association that is attached have been chosen by the All India Junior Selection Committee to attend the aforementioned camp.

The message added, "You are requested to notify the selected players to report to their respective sites on April 23, 2023."

The NCA should be notified right away if a player is unfit, according to the BCCI's request in the letter for the ACA to verify the players' physical condition for the camp.

Speaking of Saurav Dey, he competes for the NSSA squad from Karimganj, and they qualified after taking second place in the Zonal Championship and winning the district round.

The Indian Women's Football Team, captained by Assam's daughter Apurna Narzary, thrashed Singapore 7-0 on Tuesday in Vietnam.

Tge decisive victory in the first round of the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers was led by the women's team's captain, Apurna Narzary. The women's team defeated their opponents by a score of seven and completely destroyed them.

Apurna Narzary of Assam, the team's captain, concluded a strong performance against Singapore in the game played in Vietnam with a hat trick. 

According to reports, Apurna Narzary was stunned for a moment when head coach Maymol Rocky revealed that she will be captaining the squad in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 1 encounter. Narzary, who is from Kokrajhar in Assam, was the first woman to make the claim.
