Guwahati: Move aside CarryMinati! Assam's Dimpu Baruah, the YouTube star renowned for his relatable videos centred around day-to-day activities and goings-on in the state has now become the latest online sensation to raise money for the Assam flood victims.

Bora, beloved of the youngsters of the state, has been able to raise Rs. 43,000 during a YouTube live stream that he hosted on his wildly popular channel to raise money for the victims of the deluge. After raising the aforesaid amount, Bora said that he intends to divide the same among 43 families. The YouTuber also said that he will also chip in with a few bucks of his own.

Dimpu Baruah's contribution as well as his raising his voice for the flood-affected denizens of Assam is certain to create more awareness about the very pertinent issue as the Youtuber has well over 8 lakh (800,000) subscribers.

Baruah has done his bit after Ajey Nagar, the social media personality well-known for running the enormously popular YouTube channel 'Carryminati', raised over Rs 11 lakh for the flood victims of Assam and Bihar. Out of this amount, he has donated Rs 1 lakh from his own pocket.

"Thank you each one of you who supported this noble cause and helped in gathering INR 10,31,137 for Assam & Bihar on the charity stream today. I will be adding INR 1,00,000 to this amount. I am proud of you all", Nagar wrote in a tweet, after the end of his livestream.

In the stream that was hosted for over 6 hours on his wildly popular YouTube channel, many of Naga's fans donated generous amounts. Rajesh Pasupuleti, who donated an amount of Rs. 15,555, emerged as the biggest donor yesterday night.

Many renowned personalities, including the likes of John Abraham and Randeep Hooda, have tried to raise awareness about the flood situation in Assam that is still critical. On Monday, June 20, one more person from the state was killed due to drowning, which raised the overall toll to 85.
