Assam’s 1st COVID-19 positive case. 4.5 yr-old girl tests positive in Jorhat

Jorhat : As per reports, a Four-and-half years old girl child in Assam's Jorhat has been tested coronavirus positive. On March 20, the child was taken to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital by a group of its nurses and ASHA workers as she has been suffering from fever for some days, exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus infection, sources said. Sources also said that the initial medical investigation done on the child on March 21 in the JMCH confirmed that she has been infected by the coronavirus. Her sample has been sent to ICMR laboratory, Lahowal, Dibrugarh for a recheck and further confirmation, sources said. The result is expected to come on Sunday. As per reports, the child's family resides in the Pulibor locality in the town. Sources said that a few days ago her family had toured Bihar. Already, her family has been sent to an isolation ward in the JMCH.
