Assam's Ankushita Bora clinches gold for Assam in boxing at Khelo India Games in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Ankushita Bora clinches gold for Assam in Boxing, U-21, 64kg category at SAI center, Paltan Bazar during Khelo India Games in Guwahati.

The pugilist hails from Meghai Jarani village in Sonitpur district of Assam.

The final day of the games saw Maharashtra emerge as overall winners.

Around 6,800 athletes participated in the third edition of the Khelo India Youth Games. The athletes took part in a total of 20 sports with lawn ball and cycling being new additions to the Games. The opening ceremony took place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati.

Celebrities from Bollywood and a martial art team from China will perform in the closing function of the third Khelo India Games which will be held at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium at Sarusajai Sports Complex on January 22.
