Guwahati: On September 10, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, caught 2 persons for receiving bribes in two separate cases.
Himonjyoti Bora, who is the Superintendent of Excise department of Kokhrajhar district was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs. 25,000 by a team of Assam's Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption.
This information was shared by the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, on their official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "As part of drive against corruption, today, a team of Directorate Vigilance & Anti Corruption Assam, caught red handed Sh Himonjyoti Bora, Superintendent of Excise, Kokrajhar Distt while receiving bribe of Rs 25000/-."
On the same day, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption caught another person receiving a bribe in Assam's Hojai.
Bikash Rai, who is the Head Assistant of Lanka High School in Hojai, Assam, was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs. 10,000 by another team of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption.
This news was shared by the Special Director General of Assam Police, G.P. Singh, on his official Twitter handle. In his tweet, he wrote, "In another case, One *Bikash Rai, Head Assistant , Lanka High School, Hojai* has been apprehended red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10000 by a team from *Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam*.
The two persons have been arrested by the police. The efforts of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption to eradicate corruption have received appreciation from the public.
