Assam's Dhubri becomes 'Green Zone': What You need to Know

Guwahati: After the discharge of all 5 of its Covid-19 patients from hospitals, the Dhubri district of Assam has finally shed its "Orange Zone" status "with immediate effect" and has now been officially declared as a 'Green Zone'

The administration has now permitted the movement of people and restrictions on business establishments have also been eased.

Stand alone shops, grocery shops and pharmacies including veterinary clinics can now be opened, it was informed via a notification.

However, shopping complexes, cinema halls, shopping malls, saloons, beauty parlours, restaurants, gymnasiums, hotels and lodges etc shall remain closed. The other shops can be opened on a rotational basis.

Meanwhile, the Dhubri district administration has dictated that the owner of the shops will ensure that they will arrange hand washing and all the workers of their establishments will wear face masks while selling items to their customers.

From May 15 onwards, the following categories of shops can be opened from 7 am to 4 pm:

mobile shops,

hardware/paint shops,

sanitary shops,

rod/iron wire shops,

cycle shops,

electric and electronics shops,

utensils shops,

auto mobile spare parts shop/gas stove repairing shops,

sweet shops and bakeries having licenses,

fruits, vegetables and milk doorstep delivery,

medical stores,

auto garages,

readymade garments' shops,

saree and cloth shops,

shoe shops,

printing press and flex printers,

optical shops,

book stationery and rubber stamp shops,

furniture shops and bag shops,

jewelry shops, tailors' shops,

and

cosmetics and general stores.
