LAKHIMPUR: In a dreadful incident that occurred in Bihpuria town in the Lakhimpur district of Assam, a media person lost her life in a road accident. The departed has been recognized as Dolly Hazarika who had been working at a regional media house in the state.

As per reports, the sufferer was travelling on a two-wheeler when a marriage party bus accelerated and run at the back of it.

The tragic occurrence took place on Sunday night at Santapur in Lakhimpur's Bihpuria district. Hazarika underwent severe injuries in the accident and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Tragically, she capitulated to her injuries while going through treatment at Lakhimpur hospital.

At the time of the accident, she was accompanied by her father Dilip Hazarika who also witnessed injuries and is now presently going under treatment. Hazarika hailed from Pukhuri Paria village in Assam's Bihpuria.

In a similar road disaster the previous night, an individual was killed and numerous others were wounded after an auto-rickshaw ferrying passenger collided with a stationary truck in the Cachar district of Assam. One individual expired on the spot in the emerging accident, while four other people succumbed to dreadful injuries.

Earlier in January this year, a local news portal correspondent serving for East Siang, Christina Darang expired as she got involved in a fatal road mishap on January 6, 2023. The correspondent was 22 years old. As per her family members, she was proceeding toward a church's youth picnic along with her friends when the vehicle they were travelling succumbed to a road mishap near the Dura area, a few kilometers away from Pasighat.
