Guwahati: Another proud moment for the state as Assam daughter Pansy Brahma won the Best Actress award at the Big Sound International Film Festival 2020, Canada. She is a popular Bodo actress of the state.

Pansy won the award for her short film, titled 'Dusk.' The film is directed by Abhishek Basu Roy and written by Ujjwal Paul. The trailer of the movie has just been officially released. However, Pansy won the Best Actress award for the film prior to the official release of the trailer.

Pansy plays the role of a Nepalese prostitute, living in the red light area of Kolkata, West Bengal. Pansy, who hails from the district of Kokrajhar, Assam, has earlier acted in the nationally acclaimed Bodo film, 'Jeloi-Dia-Sit'.

Meanwhile, 'Dusk' has been selected for screening at the Calcutta Film Festival.
