Guwahati: The COVID-19 recovery rate of Assam and Delhi is 95% and 89.9%, respectively. The active COVID-19 cases of Assam has come down the 10,000 mark. There are 9367 active coronavirus cases in the state as 1386 patients were discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the virus. The active COVID-19 cases in Delhi stands at 32,719.
Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a comparative study of the pandemic in Assam and Delhi since its beginning.
The study compares the two places on the parameters of the number of COVID tests conducted, test per million population, confirmed cases per million population, number of cases and recovery, number of COVID deaths, and COVID death per million population.
According to the study, the number of COVID-19 tests conducted in both the places are almost equal, with Assam conducting 46, 57, 839 tests and Delhi conducting 46, 80, 695. However, when compared the number of test per million population, Delhi has a higher number with 2, 36, 332 whereas Assam has conducted 1, 35, 825 tests per million population.
The number of confirmed cases in Assam and Delhi are 2, 06, 351 and 3, 86, 706 respectively. There is almost a 6% difference in the recovery rates of Assam and Delhi. The number of COVID-19 death is 930 in Assam, and 6,511 in Delhi.
The infographic shared by Sarma shows how the Assam Government is winning at battling with this deadly virus. However, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the state have increased in a couple of days. Sarma says the reason behind this is "late reporting." He has continuously urged the people of the state to report immediately to a hospital if they feel any of the symptoms of COVID-19.
