Assam's social worker Dimbeswar Bhajani passes away

DOOMDOOMA: Dimbeswar Bhajani, a former teacher of Bijoy Lakshmi ME School situated at Daisa Bordoloi Nagar under Doomdooma Revenue Circle, passed away at his residence on Tuesday due to old-age ailment. He was 83 and is survived by his wife, three sons, a daughter and host of relatives.

He hailed from Jhanji Bonai of undivided Sivasagar district and came to Daisa to work as a teacher in 1964. He became closely associated with various social works of the area and soon made his mark as a distinguished social worker. He was the president of All Assam ME Teachers' Association (AAMETA), Tinsukia district committee for four consecutive terms and was the chief architect of constructing its permanent building at Borguri Sadar, Tinsukia. His death was widely mourned by many organizations.
