Assam:Three arrested from Dhubri and Nagaon for alleged cybercrime

Three persons were arrested for alleged cybercrime from Dhubri and Nagaon recently. According to sources, the police cybercrime detection team swung into action when a travel agency of Dhubri owned by one Subham Prasad lodged an FIR before Dhubri Superintendent of Police a few days ago alleging that money was swindled from his travel agency to purchase air tickets.

DHUBRI: Three persons were arrested for alleged cybercrime from Dhubri and Nagaon recently. According to sources, the police cybercrime detection team swung into action when a travel agency of Dhubri owned by one Subham Prasad lodged an FIR before Dhubri Superintendent of Police a few days ago alleging that money was swindled from his travel agency to purchase air tickets.

The police cyber team, after having done thorough investigation into the case, arrested three persons from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport when the trio landed from different locations of the country.

When contacted, Dhubri Superintendent of Police Nabin Singh informed that Sandip Parikh and Eben Alom Khan of Dhekiajuli and Amarjit Modak of Udalguri were arrested.

“Two laptops and three mobile handsets were recovered from them and they are being interrogated in Dhubri police station,” Singh informed. The three accused were produced in the Dhubri court and they were sent to three days police remand for further interrogation.
