TINSUKIA: Atal Tinkering Laboratory, an initiative of Atal Innovation Mission under NITI Aayog, was formally inaugurated at Panitola Girls’ High School in Tinsukia district by the Inspector of Schools, Bitupan Hazarika on Tuesday.
The Atal Tinkering Laboratory has been constructed at the cost of Rs 20 lakh. Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) will provide grant-in-aid that includes a one-time establishment cost of Rs 10 lakh and operational expenses of Rs. 2 lakh for a maximum period of 5 years.
In the inaugural meeting, Bitupan Hazarika said the children of this school must fulfil the vision of AIM through which the young minds would get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand what, how and why aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Dr Rajib Bordoloi, Principal of Women’s College, as special invitee called upon the students to observe the functioning of the instruments with curiosity and inquisitiveness. Earlier, the headmistress of the school, Pranjeeta Das laid the objective of the meeting.
