DEMOW: The Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital was established in Rajabari near Demow in Sivasagar following the demand of ATASU along with other local organizations to the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
The All Tai Ahom Students Union (ATASU), Sivasagar District Committee submitted a memorandum to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital on October 7. In the memorandum, they expressed concern over the recruitment process to different posts of the hospital, high medical expenses and alleged incorrect reports of various tests.
ATASU demanded that Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital should give 50% concession in treatment, medicines and medical tests to BPL people of the undivided Sivasagar district and 100% recruitment of eligible youths of undivided Sivasagar district to different posts in the hospital.
It has been reported on social media that the senior officers of the hospital allegedly mentally torture the employees and staff of the hospital. ATASU demanded a high-level enquiry into the allegation.
On the other hand, the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA), Demow Regional Committee also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital on Wednesday. In the memorandum they stated their various demands and asked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital to take immediate steps to fulfil the demands. A copy of the memorandum has also been submitted to the District Commissioner of Sivasagar.
