Autonomous state only possible under BJP rule: KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang

DONKAMUKAM: "Autonomous State under 244 (A) is only possible under Bharatiya Janata Party's rule," said Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang at the mass joining programme at Donkamukam Karbi Hemtun, West KarbiAnglong.

Lambasting the opposition parties for false propaganda, Ronghang said that there was absolute power in the KarbiAnglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and no transfer of power to Dispur. "Sixth Schedule is intact here and land rights to tribals are also intact here," he said.

Regarding All Party Hill Leaders Conference (APHLC)'s criticism of the Panchayati Raj system to be imposed here in KarbiAnglong, he said, "No Panchayati Raj system will be imposed here. It is totally false and APHLC is trying to divert people's attention as they have no issue."

In the meeting, a total of 158 APHLC members from BithungRengthama, Socheng constituency, Hamren, DuarAmla, Rongkhang and Amreng constituency joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.

Earlier, KAAC CEM TuliramRonghang laid the foundation stone for the construction of the BJP District Committee office at Khanajan near Satgaon West KarbiAnglong in presence of MP HorensingBey, local MLA DrMansingRongpi and other party leaders.
