Awareness on drug abuse held at Senairam HS School Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia Press Club in association with district education department organized an awareness programme on drug abuse and its remedies at Senairam HS School Tinsukia on Tuesday. The programme moderated by senior journalist Amulya Khatoniar was attended by senior students from several schools. Dr Bibhuti Bhusan Kakoti of Pharmaceutical Science Dibrugarh University as one of the resource persons dwelt at length on effects of drug abuse and its manifestation on parents and society. Another resource person Abul Ali Counsellor (ICTC, LAC&STI/RTI) of Tinsukia Civil Hospital highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse and its relationship with AIDS. The programme initiated by Pranab Phuka, secretary of Tinsukia Press Club was inaugurated by Bitupan Hazarika, Inspector of Schools, Tinsukia and attended by Kamal Talukdar, president of Tinsukia Press Club, Jayanta Neog, principal of Senairam HS School, senior journalists Dr Rishi Das, Chinmoy Sarma, Hemanta Saikia, Umesh Singh besides other members of the press club.
