DIBRUGARH: JCI Dibrugarh Royals on Saturday celebrated 'Prayas Day' in Dibrugarh to spread awareness on menstrual hygiene with some activities. A walkathon was organized from Adarsh Primary School, PN Road, Dibrugarh to Shree Gopal Gaushala, Chiringa Sapori, Dibrugarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Radhika Gupta, President, JCI Dibrugarh Royals, said that menstruation or periods is still a taboo in the society. Even today, most women hesitate to talk about it openly. There is still a lack of information and awareness among women about period hygiene. JCI Dibrugarh Royals organized such an event on Saturday to create awareness among women.
Dolly Barua, 'Winner of Mrs. Brahmaputra Diva-2021' was present as a chief guest. She applauded the JCI's efforts for awareness and appealed to the women from all sections of the society to come forward for it.
School teachers, students along with women and members of JCI Dibrugarh Pride, Dibrugarh Ladies Club, Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan also participated in the walkathon.
