Awareness programme for farmers on energy conservation held in Tezpur

TEZPUR: A one day-long training and awareness programme for farmers on energy conservation and affordable use of energy pump sets and operational practices was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Napam, Sonitpur on Friday. Angana Sarmah, Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur has given the welcome speech where she mentioned about the importance of energy conservation in todays world and efficient use of solar energy. Sarmistha Borgohain, Programme Assistant (Computer), KVK Sonitpur has given lecture on different types of solar equipment used in Agriculture and allied sector.

Saurav Bhattacharya, Young Professional from NERIWALM, Tezpur briefed about different solar operated irrigation system. Dr. Roji Chutia, SMS (Agronomy) and Palash Thengal, Programme Associate, APART, KVK Sonitpur demonstrated different solar equipment used in Agriculture sector. Dr. Ranjit Bordoloi, SMS (Fisheries Science) has given vote of thanks in the programme. The programme was attended by 70 farmers of Sonitpur district.
