TINSUKIA: As part of the Statewide extensive awareness programme 'Gono Jagoron' to contain surging COVID-19 infection, an awareness rally was organized by National Health Mission Tinsukia on Wednesday which was flagged off from GNB Civil Hospital by Sanjay Kishan, Minister of State for Labour and Tea Tribe Welfare, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Diganta Saikia, State Mission Director NHM Dr S Lakshmanan and other guests. Main participants in the rally were ASHAs, ANMs, nurses, NGO members, and officials from District Programme Management Unit, National Health Mission Tinsukia.
The main objective of the rally was to create awareness amongst the public regarding COVID prevention by following some of the important rules like wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing and practicing hand-washing. This planned mass-awareness campaign along with testing in clustered manner will enable to trace 20 persons from single positive case and will continue till September 30 to cover people at home, work place and market place.
