Axam Xahitya Xabha condemns Shiladitya Dev remarks against Syed Abdul Malik

DHEKIAJULI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) in a press release on Sunday condemned the remarks of Shiladitya Dev against its former president Syed Abdul Malik.

Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev on Saturday visited violence-hit Garuduba village, Bhorasingori, and thereafter he went to Haragouri Devalaya for worshiping Devi Haragouri. Thereafter Shiladitya addressed the local people gathered at the spot and made a controversial remark about former AXX president Syed Abdul Malik. He was also accompanied by several BJP MLAs and leaders.

On the other hand, the situation of curfew-bound Thelamara and Dhekiajuli Police Station areas was under control till Sunday evening. Numal Mahatta, Additonal SP (HQ) said that the situation at the violence hit areas is peaceful and they were at the night vigil on Saturday at Garuduba and other affected areas. When asked about the lifting of the ongoing curfew from the Thelamara and Dhekiajuli Police Station areas he said that no any such decision has been taken so far.
