‘Axam Xahitya Xabha will oppose CAA’ Says Paramananda Rajbongshi

Jyotikhetra (Soalkuchi): The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) will oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). This is stated by Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, AXX president, in the 8th executive meet of the Xabha held at Soalkuchi Budram Madhav Satradhikar College in connection with the 75th biennial session on Saturday.

The meet was presided over by Dr. Rajbongshi. The meet also decided to create awareness amongst the common people against CAA. “AXX will not compromise when it comes to adopting Assamese language in every walk of life. Assamese language will have to be implemented strictly in every field of Assam. All the government officials must know Assamese language,” he said.

The 75th biennial session of AXX started on January 31 and will continue till February 4. On Saturday the session started with the inauguration of temporary naamghar constructed at Jyotikhetra (Soalkuchi), the session campus. The naamghar was inaugurated by Janardhan Dev Goswami, Xatradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Xatra of Majuli. Bhaona and naam prasangaa will be performed daily till the session ends. The entire Jyotikhetra has turned into a sea of humanity as thousands of people have come to take part in the 75th biennial session of the AXX.
