Ayushman Diwas observed across Assam

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia Civil Hospital observed the Ayushman Diwas with day-long activities at the hospital premises on Saturday with the presentation of appreciation awards. The programme began with a media orientation programme which was addressed by Dr Mridul Gogoi, Superintendent of Tinsukia Civil Hospital who highlighted the eligibility criteria of Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana.

Dr Gogoi, however, regretted that due to poor awareness campaign only 561 beneficiaries availed the scheme from April 2022 to March 2023 while 384 from April 2023 to August 2023 undergone treatment under ABPMJAY and AAMMJAY even as Tinsukia district has 701363 BPL ration card holders of which 5,55061 are linked to AADHAR cards. Though ration card linked AADHAR card holder are considered to be true beneficiaries, even without Ayushman Card, a ration card holder is entitled for the scheme, Dr Gogoi said.

He called upon the journalists to make wide publicity of this health benefits so that it can reach out to common mass. Dr Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Joint DHS, also addressed media persons. The event also witnessed presentation of Appreciation Awards. AnkurJyoti Hazarika of Bagjan who was listed in all India achievement list of Ayushman Yodha for exemplary performance during Aapeke Dwar Ayushman campaign was presented an award by the Tinsukia district administration which was handed over to him by Kamal Talukdar, president of Tinsukia Press Club while Tinsukia Civil Hospital too received an appreciation award which was presented to Superintendent of Civil Hospital by Dr Rishi Das, president of Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association.

HAFLONG: The Dima Hasao district celebrated the 5th anniversary of the “Ayushman Bharat Diwas” in the conference hall of Shiksa Bhawan Haflong on Saturday. The programme was attended by Principal Secretary DHAC, Thai Tsho Daulagupu ACS, Deputy Secratary DHAC , Rebecca Changsan ACS, Superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital, Dr. Kalpana Kemprai and medical officials.

Principal Secretary spoke about the scheme and how it has been benefitting the needy from various corners of the country including the district. Deputy secretary of DHAC described the scheme and urged the people to avail maximum benefit out of it. She also highlighted the benefits of Ayushman Bharat card and said that under this policy, private hospitals and State government hospitals may provide up to Rs. 5 Lakhs. Eligible individuals can use the card to avail cashless and paperless healthcare benefits. During the programme a certificate of appreciation for the highest E-cards generation in the district was given.

After the end of the programme, an awareness rally was held which was participated by health workers, nursing students of Holy Spirit Hospital, nurses and Asha workers. Drawing competition was also organized on the occasion.
