DHUBRI: Under the auspices of Dhubri district administration, a traditional boat rowing competition was organized on Saturday to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the river Brahmaputra, where in 75 country boats took part to mark the celebration of country's 75th year of Independence.

All the boats together created tri-colour waves in the river which was applauded by the spectators standing on both side of the banks. A host district level civil and police officials joined the competition of boats including Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP, Dhubri District Development Commissioner, Kanta Das, Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav Dilip.

Competition flagged off at Kacharighat near the DC office which sailed to Chalakura ghat. It was greeted with large number of people holding National Flags. They then in return moved to BSF (water wing) ghat where too students of various schools greeted them waving National Flags.
