Moran: The government had sanctioned Rs 1.9 crore to build a kilometer of road in Ahomgaon of Moran. The road stretch is completed and within three months of completion, the road is not usable. It's broken and all the paver blocks which were laid as part of the road construction have come off.

The contractor did an extremely shoddy job because the residents of the area could pick the small concrete blocks with their hand as the builder did not cement the blocks properly.

The shoulders of the road were never built and whatever little cement work or kind of pavements were built, have cracked and crumbled, exposing the poor construction quality.

The locals of the area are extremely angry at MLA Chakradhar Gogoi because of his inaction and silence.

The one km road connects Bejorchuk village via the National Highway 37 to other parts of Moran.

The locals of the area have accused the contractor Nikhilash Gogoi of cheating and corruption and said that he had use substandard materials while constructing the road.

A resident of Ahomgaon said," Condition of the road is very poor. The construction quality is very bad. The road was to be one km, the contractor made only 800 meters".

The people of Ahomgaon have demanded an investigation into the matter and against the contractor on charges of corruption and bungling funds meant for the construction of the road.
