TINSUKIA: Dousing Baghjan oil well fire is likely to be delayed as OIL authorities have been running into rough weather as bridges are reportedly collapsing failing to withstand the impact of the load. The arterial road to the blast site has been blocked after a concrete bridge caved in near Rupai TE. In another incident, a dumper (AS 23CC 2651) loaded with Baghjan equipment knocked down a person, Robin Karmakar (35) of Tipuk TE near the garden killing him on the spot on Thursday evening while taking a diversion road via Tipuk-Kordoiguri-Bandarkhati-Daisajan TE-Baghjan. Besides, a bridge on that road also stands in a fragile state. If this bridge collapses, the locals said, Baghjan will be totally cut-off from the land. Thus all roads to the blast site will become inaccessible.

While flood water from River Dangori inundated vast areas of Baghjan blast site, more than 70 dwelling houses have submerged. The inmates of these houses have been evacuated and lodged in relief camps after the blowout. According to reports, around 100-150 families are affected most initially by flow of condensate and now surging water of River Dangori.
