Tamulpur: Deputy Commissioner Baksa Ranjan Sharma reviewed the schemes implemented by the PHE department in Baksa district on Thursday at his office chamber in Mushalpur.

The meeting was attended by ADC Sadhan Sirkar, Executive Engineer Baksa division B M Roy and Assistant Executive Engineer of Tamulpur and Mushalpur. As Baksa district is the most arsenic-affected area in the State, the DC took stock of the schemes taken to eradicate this age-old problem. Executive Engineer of PHE in reply said that the department had already initiated 47 schemes to provide safe drinking water over 600 villages in the district. He also gave elaborate description of several other schemes also. He also said in the meeting that to mitigate the problem of drinking water in Subankhata and Chowki, the department had initiated an effective measure.

DC Sharma asked officials to expedite the work and assured all kind of necessary support from his side. The mentioned schemes will have to accomplished within March 31, 2021.
