BAKSA: Five dacoits were arrested on Friday in an operation by Baksa Police. The gang of dacoits had been looting in various areas, including Mushalpur, Barma and other areas of Baksa district for the past two years by brandishing arms. Police continued operation in search of the gang of dacoits for the last two years but the dacoits managed to evade arrest every time. But finally they were arrested on Friday by Baksa Police, under the leadership of newly-appointed Additional Superintendent of Police of Baksa district, Ujjwal Pratim Baruah. The dacoits have been identified as Anjan Das, Gopesh Das, Himanshu Haloi, Kuldeep Roy and Khanin Deka. Police seized a pistol, a Maruti Suzuki car, a Grand i10 car, a Datsun Redi-Go car, two bikes as well as five mobile handsets from the dacoits. The dacoits are being interrogated at Mushalpur police station for more information.
