Balipara near Kalaigaon Town to be Plastic-free from October 2

KALAIGAON: In an effort to contribute towards containing plastic waste and saving water, Tangla Public Health Engineering Division(PHE) launched its mission against single-use polythene and plastic bags in Balipara near Kalaigaon town from Friday. BRCC of Kalaigaon PHE Ripon Daimary said, “It is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call to make India a plastic-free nation and the Balipara area’s Plastic-free Swaccha Bharat Mission will continue till October 2”. Meanwhile, two schools of Balipara area namely Balipara Krishak Mukti High School and Balipara ME School declared their institutions as plastic and polythene free-zone since September 27. A meeting to this effect was also organized on Friday in the premise of Balipara Durga Mandi and this meeting was presided over by Kiran Ch. Baro. Several noted personalities like Sahiruddin Ahmed, Harakanta Das, Bulbul Haque along with PHE officials from Kalaigaon stook part in this meeting.
