Lakhimpur:  As per notification issued by the Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA), the ban on single-use plastic has come into force in the Lakhimpur district too along with the rest part of the State from Friday.

Things that have come under the banned list are ear buds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, plastic candy sticks, plastic ice cream sticks, thermocol for decoration, etc. On the other hand, banned plastics with less than 100 microns in thickness are plates, cups, glasses, forks, spoons, straws, trays, wrapping or packaging films around sweet boxes, invitation cards and cigarette packets and single-use carry bags with thickness less than 75 microns.
