BARPETA: The Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, Munindra Sarma on Thursday made arrangements to send 23 students from Madhya Pradesh back home by a special air-conditioned sleeper bus. These 23 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh had come to study in Class IX at Sarbhog Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barpeta. Likewise, 23 students from Sarbhog Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya had gone to Madhya Pradesh to study.
The Deputy Commissioner bid goodbye to the students and gave them masks and sanitizers. District Transport Officer (I/C) Himangshu Das and DIPRO Bikash Sarma were also present. Along with the students, the Principal of JNV, Sarbhog, three teachers, a medical team and security personnel were also sent. The students of Sarbhog JNV who were in Madhya Pradesh have also started their return journey. On Friday, both the groups will reach Patna and the students of Sarbhog coming from Madhya Pradesh will get into this bus to return home. The Deputy Commissioner advised the students to maintain social distancing.
