LAKHIMPUR: Various organizations, institutions and individuals of Lakhimpur are contributing to the Prime Minister Care Fund, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Assam Arogya Nidhi in order to meet with expenditure incurred to contain the COVID-19 menace.
Noted Vaishnava Peeth of the north-eastern region, Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra located in Dhakuakhna subdivision of the district extended a sum of Rs. 1,00,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, said Bhupendra Deva Goswami on Monday.
On the other hand, Valley View School of North Lakhimpur town also donated an amount of Rs. 75,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on Saturday. Similarly, social cultural and sport institution of North Lakhimpur Khelmati Club donated Rs. 25,000 while Jyoti Malpani donated Rs. 11,000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi. She also donated the same amount of money to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund too. Lakhi Chutia, a businessman of Lakhimpur living at Khelmati, donated Rs. 50000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi and Rs. 11,000 to Prime Minister Care Fund. Maheshwari Hardware Stores (N.T.Road) contributed Rs. 51,000 to PM Cares (Central Government Corona Relief Fund) and Rs. 51,000 to Assam Government Corona Relief Fund. Similarly, Kushal Baruah, a veterinary officer of Lakhimpur, donated Rs. 50,000 through the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur to PM Care Fund.
