BAYM, Demow Town Committee demands Probe into Youth’s Death

DEMOW: Under the leadership of Jadumoni Kalita, president, and Jaan Barua, secretary of Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM), Demow Town Committee, a memorandum was submitted to Demow Circle Officer on Tuesday. In the memorandum, the BAYM, Demow Town Committee stated that Chandan Sarma, son of Sukdeu Sarma and a resident of Kachumari Gaon, who belongs to a very poor family used to drive a car and run his family and on December 24, Chandan Sarma handed over the car which he drove in the owner’s residence and went to drop an employee to Thowra Tea Estate 6 No. Line on a motorcycle.

But he was recovered in a critical condition the next morning near the Thowra Tea Estate 6 No Line. His family members immediately admitted him in a private nursing hospital and also lodged an FIR in Demow Police Station. After 10 days of treatment in Dibrugarh, the youth died. The BAYM, Demow Town Committee has demanded the administration to order a proper probe into the incident and to arrest the culprits soon.
