KOKRAJHAR: Along with other parts of the country, the Kokrajhar district administration on Monday also joined a programme held for releasing the benefits and services to the children who have lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic under PM CARES through video conferencing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually released the benefits and services to the beneficiaries under PM CARES and highlighted the key features of the scheme while addressing the programme.

Attending at programme, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka handed over a letter of Prime Minister, Sneh Patra (Certificate of PM CARES), PM CARES for children Passbook, Health Card of AB-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to a child who is benefited under the scheme.

It may be stated that PM CARES for children scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and protection of COVID-19 victims' children, enable their well-being through health insurance, empower them through education and equip them to be self-sufficient with financial support.

Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kokrajhar, Maloti Rani Narzary and other members of the committee, members of Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer, beneficiary with the guardians witnessed the programme held here at the NIC.
