Best reader award conferred to octogenarian Puspalata Bhuyan in Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: On the occasion of Librarian Day, mobile library services of Nazira college in Sivasagar district conferred the best reader award to octogenarian Puspalata Bhuyan, a veteran writer, educationist and senior citizen of Nazira and recipient of State Best Teacher awardee.

The award was given to her by Dr Rajendra Mohan Deva Sarmah, librarian of Nazira College, and Aditya Kalita at a function held at Nazira. In the function, Pratyakha, a book of Puspalata Bhuyan was also unveiled. The mobile library service of Nazira College, initiated by Dr Ranajendra Mohan Deva Sarmah, has been encouraging the habit of reading among senior citizens, cancer patients and divyangas by door-to-door visit. The service is also extended to prisoners of Sivasagar central jail.
