Bhaben Baruah Award 2023 conferred on actor Bhabesh Baruah

NALBARI: Veteran actor of the Assamese mobile theatre industry, Bhabesh Baruah was conferred with the prestigious Bhaben Baruah Award, 2023 on Sunday at Nalbari Natya Mandir by the Nalbari unit of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP).

He was welcomed with a colourful cultural rally by the members of AJYCP and fans of the actor. Senior doctor Hitesh Baruah, AJYCP central committee president Palash Sangmai, district president Nirod Das, secretary Jogesh Kalita and many others attended the award ceremony.

The award was presented previously to prominent actor Dulal Roy in 2009, Guruji Adya Sharma in 2010, Biju Phukan in 2011, Nilu Chakraborty in 2012, Mahananda Sharma in 2013. Jibeswar Deka in 2014, Achyut Lahkar in 2015, Dharani Barman in 2016, Hemant Dutta in 2017, Vidya Rao in 2018, Dara Ahmed in 2019, Kulda Kumar Bhattacharya in 2020, Nipon Goswami in 2021 and Dinesh Das in 2022. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 15,000, a bouquet of flowers, gamosa, a seleng sadar, a japi, a certificate and a memento.

“I am happy and feel proud receiving the Bhaben Baruah Award,” said Bhabesh Baruah.
