Bhanu Jayanti observed at Udalguri

UDALGURI: The 208th birth anniversary of Nepali pioneer poet Bhanubhakta Acharya was observed at Udalguri with a day-long programme.

The Udalguri unit of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha paid tribute to the poet and a literary programme was also organized to mark the celebration. The new committee of Udalguri unit Nepali Sahitya Sabha took charge and conducted the programme. Indira Gautam, the president, and Dhiraj Upadhyaya, the general secretary of the committee, took oath on the occasion. Tarapati Upadhyaya, eminent litterateur, attended that meeting.

The Bhanu Sanskritik Vikash Kendra, Rowta also observed Bhanu Jayanti, The meeting was presided over by Rewati Mohan Timsina and tribute to the pioneer poet was paid by Hemlal Sarmah. In the meeting, a new committee of Bhanu Sanskritik Vikash Kendra was formed with Lakshmi Sedai as president, Sripad Sarma and Am Bahadur Chetri as vice-presidents and Dilu Sarma as general secretary.
