Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s Death Anniversary observed across State

SIVASAGAR: The eighth death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika was observed in a solemn function organized at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar on Tuesday.

The function began with a floral tribute and lighting of lamps in front of the portrait of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya, DDC Nawab Al-Azhar Ali, ADCs Junumoni Sonowal, Dilip Terang, and Moon Gogoi, other officers and employees of the DC’s office. The highlight of the programme was the presentation of Bhupen Hazarika’s immortal song Manuhe Manuhor Babe by the employees of the DC’s office.

UDALGURI: Dr. Bhupen Hazarika was remembered at Udalguri Sahitya Sabha Bhavan on his death anniversary. The commemoration programme was organized by Bhupen Hazarika Pratimurti Nirman Samiti and Udalguri Sahitya Sabha. Prakash Ranjan Gharfalia, the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri, inaugurated the programme with the lighting of the lamp. He also delivered a speech commemorating his association with Hazarika. Mayank Kumar, Additional SP of Udalguri, paid floral tribute at the statue of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, along with other dignitaries.
