Bharatiya Bhasa Utsav celebrated in Assam Women's University, Jorhat

JORHAT: Assam Women's University organized the 'Bharatiya Bhasa Utsav' celebration under UGC on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahakabi Subramania Bharathi in the University premises.

Kaushik Handique, Head of Administration (i/c), gave the welcome address. The University organized various literary competitions in this regard. Dr Prashanta Puzari, Assistant Professor, Department of English, delivered a thoughtful lecture on the history, identity and politics of Indian languages. Dr Puzari expressed his concern over the present state of languages on the verge of extinction. Srijani, a hand-written magazine edited by Dr Gitimoni Hatimuria, was also released at the function.
