Biennial conference of AAGSU concludes in Udalguri district

UDALGURI: The 41st biennial conference of the Udalguri district committee of All Assam Gorkha Students' Union (AAGSU) concluded at Samrang in the district of Udalguri. The delegates' session of the students' union was inaugurated by Puspadhar Sarma the former student leader and the Principal of Udalguri H S School. He appealed to the students to work for greater unity and educational awareness among the people. Baidyanath Upadhyaya, the renowned journalist has also addressed the students' session.

He urged them to work for a better society. The delegates elected Ram Chhetri as president and Gopal Dhakal as general secretary for the next term. The crowded open session was inaugurated by Purna Kirat Rai, the president of the Udalguri district committee of Assam Gorkha Sammelan.

The meeting was presided by Somraj Sonar and guest introductions were given by Sanjeev Khatiwada, the general secretary of Udalguri district Gorkha Students' Union. The meeting was addressed by All Assam Gorkha Students' Union leaders as well as BTR Deputy Chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatari, Dilip Kumar Saikia the MP of Mangaldai. Thousands of people thronged the place from the nook and corner of Udalguri district.
