Biennial Session of Uttar Lakhimpur Xahitya Xabha concludes

LAKHIMPUR: The biennial session of Uttar Lakhimpur Xahitya Xabha (ULXX) concluded on Sunday with colourful programmes organized in a befitting manner. The open session held at the ULXX office was chaired by president Rukma Gohain Baruah. Secretary Jetuki Saikia explained the objective of the programme while vice-president Dr Premananda Howborah delivered the welcome address.

Former president-in-charge of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), Biswa Baruah graced the occasion as chief guest. Eminent writer and former president of Lakhimpur District Xahitya Xabha, Swapna Chetia Gogoi released Neelpadma, the biennial publication of ULXX, while Biswa Baruah released Pravandha Porikrama, a collection of articles authored by writer Meena Phukan Hazarika. Attending the programme, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) Principal Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, lifetime member of AXX, Hiranya Duworah and litterateur Arati Gohain Duworah delivered speeched.

In the delegate meeting organized on this occasion, the executive body of the ULXX for the 2020-22 session was constituted with Dr. Premananda Howborah as president, Deepak Hazarika as vice-president and Tilak Deka as secretary.
