GAURISAGAR: Bijuli Chaliha, retired assistant teacher of No 954 Namdang Kumar Gaon LP School and a resident of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district passed away on Saturday morning at about 8.20 a.m at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh due to respiratory disorder. She had been undergoing treatment in AMCH since July 19. Her demise was widely mourned in entire Gaurisagar area. She was polite and simple. As a women of reticent she was loved and respected by all. People from all walks of life arrived at her Gaurisagar home after hearing the news of her passing and paid their respects. A shraddhanjali function was held before her cremation where a good number of organizations like Gaurisagar Naamghar Samaj, No 954 Namdang Kumar LP school, Gaurisagar Press Club, Triluchan Sanskritic Mancha Gaurisagar paid floral tribute. The shraddhanjali function was anchored by cultural activists Montu Kalita .She is survived by two sons and three married daughters and a host of relatives.
